Salmonella enterica subsp. arizonae

Salmonella enterica subsp. arizonae
a subspecies found in reptiles, birds, and domestic animals, and also isolated from dried egg powder and other food sources. Ingestion of contaminated food produces gastroenteritis and salmonellosis, and less often bacteremias and local infections. The organisms may ferment lactose rapidly. Formerly called S. arizonae.
