Celsius scale

Celsius scale
(C) a temperature scale on which 0° is officially 273.15 kelvins and 100° is 373.15 kelvins. Before 1948 (and still, unofficially) the degree Celsius (°C) was called the degree centigrade (°C) with 0° at the freezing point of fresh water and 100° at the boiling point, at normal atmospheric pressure (760 mm Hg). See also kelvin and Appendix 6 for Celsius-Fahrenheit, Fahrenheit-Celsius equivalents.
