pulmonary artery sling
a rare cardiac anomaly in which the left pulmonary artery arises aberrantly from the right pulmonary artery and lies between the trachea and esophagus; it is frequently characterized by respiratory obstruction. See also pulmonary sling syndrome, under syndrome.
