gastric stasis

gastric stasis
impaired action of stomach muscles that is less severe than gastroparesis; symptoms include weight loss, nausea, and vomiting. It may follow gastric surgery, such as when the vagus nerve has been damaged; be part of a neuromuscular problem such as autonomic neuropathy or peripheral neuropathy; or be a manifestation of a systemic disorder such as diabetes mellitus or systemic scleroderma.
