- ster·eo·cil·i·a (ster″e-o-silґe-ə) sing. stereocilґium [stereo- + cilium] long, nonmotile microvilli found on the free surface of hair cells of the internal ear and on pseudostratified epithelial cells of the male epididymis; they have cores of cross-linked actin filaments but, unlike true cilia, do not have axonemes. Cf. kinocilium.
