combination syndrome

combination syndrome
a condition sometimes seen in patients with a mandibular distal extension partial denture opposing a complete maxillary denture; if there is not enough primary occlusal force, excessive load may be placed on the anterior part of the maxillary denture, causing loss of the anterior maxillary alveolus.
