dialysis dysequilibrium syndrome
a group of symptoms seen during or after overly rapid hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, resulting from an osmotic shift of water into the brain; usually there is headache and less often nausea, muscle cramps, nervous irritability, drowsiness, and convulsions.
