neostigmine test

neostigmine test
(for myasthenia gravis) used in children, and in adults suspected of having myasthenia gravis but with a negative Tensilon test; neostigmine methylsulfate mixed with atropine sulfate is injected intramuscularly. This will relieve symptoms of myasthenia gravis if that is what is causing the patient's symptoms. Called also Prostigmin t.
