strategic therapy

strategic therapy
a directive form of psychotherapy in which the therapist helps couples or families to change their interactions and behavior by noticing where maladaptive patterns are occurring, then eliminating them by demanding deliberate attempts to behave in ways that, paradoxically, would normally be expected to cause them instead.
