tinea imbricata

tinea imbricata
a chronic tropical type of tinea corporis due to Trichophyton concentricum, found on certain South Pacific islands and in Southeast Asia, Central America, and South America. It is seen almost exclusively in persons of Indonesian or Polynesian descent and is characterized by confluent, polycyclic, concentric rings of scaly patches, sometimes over large areas of the body. Called also Oriental or Tokelau ringworm.
