diphtheria toxoid

diphtheria toxoid
the formaldehyde-inactivated toxin of Corynebacterium diphtheriae, used for immunization against diphtheria. It is generally used in mixtures with tetanus toxoid and acellular pertussis vaccine (DTaP or Tdap vaccines) or with tetanus toxoid alone (DT or Td) when pertussis vaccine is contraindicated.
