Unitunicatae

Unitunicatae
Uni·tu·ni·ca·tae (u″ne-too″nĭ-kaґte) in fungal taxonomy, a series of the subphylum Ascomycotina, consisting of those having a unitunicate ascus. It is usually subdivided into operculate and inoperculate groups according to whether or not the ascus has an operculum (small cap that pops open for ejection of spores).
