meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine
(MPSV) a preparation of capsular polysaccharide antigens of Neisseria meningitidis serovars A, C, Y, and W-135; used for the prevention of meningococcal disease. The vaccine is administered subcutaneously to persons over 2 years of age in certain high-risk groups, including all military recruits, persons deficient in any of the late complement components, and those with asplenia.
