enteric orphan viruses
viruses isolated from the intestinal tracts of animals, called orphan viruses because they are often not specifically associated with illness; they include such viruses isolated from cattle (ecboviruses), dogs (ecdoviruses), humans (echoviruses), monkeys (ecmoviruses), and swine (ecsoviruses).
