Adenosine triphosphate (ATP)

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP)
A compound of critical importance in the storage of energy within cells in the body and in the synthesis (the making) of RNA. ATP is a nucleotide (a building block of a nucleic acid such as RNA). The body produces ATP from food and then ATP produces energy as needed by the body.
