hys·tero·pexy (hisґtər-o-pek″se) [hystero- + -pexy] surgical fixation of a displaced uterus, which may be done by ventrofixation, shortening of the round ligaments, shortening of the sacrouterine ligaments, or shortening of the endopelvic fascia. It is called abdominal or vaginal, depending on whether the uterus is fastened to the abdominal wall or to the vagina.
