io·do·quin·ol (i-o″do-kwinґol) [USP] an amebicide used in the treatment of amebic dysentery, administered orally. It has also been used topically in fungal and bacterial skin infections and in seborrheic dermatitis, usually in conjunction with a corticosteroid. Called also diiodohydroxyquin.
