ni·tro·fu·ra·zone (ni″tro-fuґrə-zōn) [USP] an antibacterial effective against a wide variety of gram-negative and gram-positive organisms. It is used topically as a local antiinfective in skin lesions including wounds, burns, skin infections, and ulcers and to aid healing and prevent infection of skin grafts.
