New epithelial or connective tissue attachment to the surface of a tooth that was surgically detached and not exposed to oral environment.

re·at·tach·ment (re″ə-tachґmənt) 1. joining together parts that have been separated. 2. the recementing of a dental crown or other prosthesis. 3. embedding of new periodontal ligament fibers into new cementum and the attachment of gingival epithelium to tooth surface previously denuded by disease.
