tret·i·noin (tretґĭ-noin″) all-trans-retinoic acid, applied topically in the treatment of acne vulgaris and as a keratolytic in the treatment of disorders of keratinization, and administered orally as an antineoplastic in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia. Called also retinoic acid and vitamin A acid.
