Joh·ne's bacillus 'yō-.nēz-, -nəz- n a bacillus of the genus Mycobacterium (M. paratuberculosis) that causes Johne's disease
Joh·ne 'yō-nə Heinrich Albert (1839-1910)
German bacteriologist. Johne developed a method for staining bacterial capsules in 1894. He discovered Johne's bacillus in 1895.
