a type of entrapment neuropathy caused by entrapment of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve at the inguinal ligament, causing paresthesia, pain, and numbness in the outer surface of the thigh in the region supplied by the nerve. Called also Bernhardt, Bernhardt-Roth, Roth, or Roth-Bernhardt disease.
