sat·u·rat·ed (sachґə-rāt-əd) 1. of a chemical compound, having all the chemical affinities satisfied; i.e., no double or triple bonds are present. The term is most commonly used for carbon-carbon bonds, as in saturated fatty acids. 2. of a solution, containing as much solute as may be dissolved under stated conditions.
