ac·ro·sin (akґro-sin) [EC 3.4.21.10] a type of serine endopeptidase stored in the acrosomes of mammalian spermatozoa, as the inactive precursor proacrosin; after activation it is believed to aid penetration of the zona pellucida of the oocyte.
