multislice CT scanning

multislice CT scanning
a development of spiral CT scanning using more than one array of detectors at the same time in a modified spiral CT scanner. Patients can be scanned more quickly and with thinner cuts, enabling greater detail to be achieved. This is particularly valuable for obtaining three-dimensional reconstructions of tissues and bones. In the future, detector arrays are likely to be replaced by a single flat plate similar to that used for digital radiography. See isotropic.
