out-of-the-body experience

out-of-the-body experience
a form of derealization in which there is a sensation of leaving one's body and visions of travelling through tunnels into light or of journeys on another plane of existence. It typically occurs after anaesthesia or severe illness and is often attributed to anoxia of the brain.
