adenoma sebaceum 1. see under hyperplasia. 2. Pringle type adenoma sebaceum: misnomer for a type of hamartoma of the face seen in tuberous sclerosis complex; it does not involve the sebaceous glands. 3. Balzer type adenoma sebaceum: nevoid hyperplasia of the sebaceous glands, seen as multiple pale papules or nodules of the face.
